This year marked an important milestone for High Gate International Academy as we presented, for the first time, a cohort of pupils for the Cambridge Checkpoint examinations, which conclude the primary cycle. It was a new and enriching experience for the school, the teachers, and the learners alike. After several months of focused preparation and guidance, our pupils approached these assessments with confidence and maturity. As we now await the results, they were given a well-deserved two-week break before returning to school for end-of-year activities and their graduation—an opportunity to celebrate both their efforts and this significant step in their academic journey.

When the results were finally released, they gave us every reason to be proud. Our students performed strongly across all three subjects, confirming the quality of the work done throughout the year. In English, they achieved an average score of 36, well above the international average of 28. In Mathematics, their performance stood at 31, matching and consolidating the international benchmark. In Science, the results were particularly impressive, with an average of 41 compared to an international average of 31. Beyond the numbers, these results reflect our students’ seriousness, the consistency of their teachers’ support, and a learning environment that encourages understanding rather than memorisation. For a first cohort, this achievement is both encouraging and motivating for the years ahead.

This year also marked an important milestone with our students sitting for the DELF examinations. A total of 43 candidates took part across different levels:A1.1, A1 and A2 reflecting the diversity of proficiency within our bilingual pathway. Preparing for and sitting these exams gives students a clear goal, helps them structure their learning, and builds confidence through an internationally recognised assessment. Beyond certification, the DELF develops essential skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing in real-life contexts, while also familiarising learners with exam conditions from an early age. Most importantly, these diplomas remain valid for life and open doors to future academic opportunities, mobility, and international programmes, making them a valuable investment in our students’ long-term educational journey.

The End of Term 3 examinations marked the final academic assessment of the year and offered students a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the progress they have made across all subjects. Conducted in a calm and structured environment, these exams helped students consolidate their learning, apply knowledge independently, and reflect on their academic growth. Beyond the results, this final assessment highlighted students’ resilience, maturity, and readiness to move confidently into the next academic year, bringing the term and the year to a meaningful close.

To celebrate linguistic diversity, students participated in French reading, writing, and cultural activities. As a bilingual school, this celebration fosters pride in the French language and the Francophone world.

Nursery learners enjoyed a festive Easter celebration with classroom arts, a garden egg hunt, singing, and shared snacks. Combining creativity with joyous play.
